A writer’s life isn’t always nose to the grindstone, tapping away at a computer, sending off a manuscript in the hope it’ll be picked up by a publisher who loves it to death.
There’re fantastic writerly friends, research trips that touch base with your beloved story, taking part in activities that promote or strengthen the love of books for the young and the young at heart. These are the things that keep you going too. Here are some images of one writer’s life. Mine.
Check out the images for the faces of many Aussie authors and illustrators, people I call my friends. Maybe you’re amongst them?

what a line up! Great job with the Slide show, clever girl.
That is so cool, Sheryl!

Hi Mina, it’s not as difficult as I thought it would be. I think I did stuff it up a little – maybe doubled up on several images.
Okay, so I couldn’t resist including the photo with the Governor-General, Quentin Bryce. She’s so lovely.
Not sure why the order is a bit jumpy. Have to explore slideshow implanting (?) a bit more, I suspect.
Firstly, how clever are you?! It looks fab!
Secondly, thanks for giving a visual window into your colorful life that included some of my fave people.
Finally, what I noticed most was the smiles. A reminder of the joy in the writer’s life.
Thank you!
Oh, you’ll be asked for tutes on this for sure!

This is so beautiful, Shez! I loved seeing all those gorgeous faces and you always look so so happy! xx
That is a lovely slideshow Sheryl. Thanks for including me. I envey you the ability to mix with so many lovely authors. It must be very inspiring. I will be down for CYA this year so I will be able to catch up then. xx
Thank you for dropping by everyone! Much appreciated and thank you for letting me into your lives as well.
Hey Sheryl
That look brilliant – just want to sit and watch the whole time – lucky you ran out of space and they repeat or I would have just sat here all day watching !!!!
